Standing for Christ no matter what

I hope you forward this to where ever possible this is so very important because if you do not we may loose it all we are on the brink of loosing it all

from Christian Anti Defamation league

Dear Thomas,Dr. Gary Cass
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the relentless and scandalous attacks on Jesus Christ, the church, and Christians?
Wherever you turn someone is trying to silence Christians, stamp out our freedom of speech, slander the good character of believers like Sarah Palin and her children, or bring violence and murder into our Church sanctuaries.
It would be easy to sit back, keep a low profile, pretend it isn’t happening … and hope no one notices.  But we can’t do that!
That’s why we fought for Child Evangelism Fellowship in Oklahoma. They were told they could not share the gospel with the hurting children in a public housing development in Tulsa, even though they had been doing it for twenty years.
Together, by God’s grace, we were able to cause the public housing authority to reverse course and insure that Child Evangelism Fellowship has access to minister to these kids. Praise the Lord.

The Bible gives us a clear declaration that we are, “appointed for the defense of the gospel.”
In I Peter we read,”…always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you … when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.”
Almost every day we see disparaging remarks made in the media about Bible believing Christians. History tells us that defamation of persons of any religion or ethnic group precedes persecution or even genocide.
We cannot be naïve about the slippery slope of defamation, marginalization, discrimination, and persecution.
That is why I am so thankful for you.  You are a courageous warrior.  You are willing to take a stand against the venomous attacks on Christ, His church, and His servants.
You too are appointed for the defense of the gospel!
Christian bashing is alive and well in America. We see Christians who stand up for marriage are called hateful. We see pro-lifers demonized because they uphold the sanctity of human life. Faithful ministers who stand on the truth of God’s word are insulted as ignorant.
But, we are appointed for the defense of the gospel!
The Holy Spirit is binding our hearts together as we become an irresistible force to combat anti-Christian bigotry wherever it raises its ugly head.
And, our voice is growing. Just within the past few days we finalized a new partnership with the Bott Radio Network to expand the reach of our daily FREEDOM ALERTS to another eighty five radio stations. This makes almost 300 stations that air our daily radio commentary!
Now tens of thousands of Christians across America are being informed about the attacks on Christians that the main stream media refuses to report. We are also mobilizing our listeners to join with us as we defend the faith.
I praise God for using us and expanding our voice…
…for we are appointed for the defense of the gospel!
But, in spite of all these great victories, our voice is in danger of being silenced.  We are dangerously low on the funds we need to operate. We need your support to stay in the fight.
As a defender of the gospel, can you send a special gift this week? You can donate online by clicking here.
Please, prayerfully consider what you will do to help with this important need.  The enemies of our faith are not backing off.  They’re not taking vacations from their bigotry.  They are busily defaming the name of Christ with every opportunity.  They intend to silence the gospel!
Thank you for your faithful support.  Together we can reclaim America for Christ!
In the name of our Lord,
Dr. Gary L. Cass
P.S. Religious liberty is a precious freedom that very few in the world have ever possessed.  We are truly blessed.  But we must stand together or religious liberty will be lost for our children and grand-children. Please send the best gift today that you can afford by clicking here. I need your help.

Why do I oppose abortion?

There is a broad amount of scripture that opposes abortion, most of these are by way of showing that a young human being in the womb is sanctified by God. This means that the baby in the womb is not a “fetus”, but a person from conception. The thing that strikes me the most as I get older has to do with the beauty in all new born human beings. This is an area that I am unable to back away from and would not if I could, there is no compromise in this. This is an on going list:

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”
(Psalms 139:14-16)

And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.”
(Luke 1:41-44)

Infants in the womb can be aware of events in the outside world and some times very early. Elizabeth the mother of John the Baptist was visited by Mary and her baby recognized the presence of Jesus Christ. It is supposed that Jesus in the womb at this point is significantly younger then six months, because Elizabeth conceived first and then we are told about the conception of Christ. No length of times are given as to how long Mary had been pregnant. However, what months are given places Mary well into the second trimester.

Obama’s Attack on Medical Civil Liberties

from newsmax

Sunday, March 15, 2009 5:23 PM
By: Newt Gingrich and Rick Tyler

Candidate Barack Obama offered a compelling but formless message of hope and change. Many Americans desiring a new national direction filled his empty rhetorical vessels with their dreams and aspirations. It worked.

But now, obliged by his office, President Obama is giving those words definition and shape bewildering even some of his most ardent supporters.

While the media remain fixated on a slumping economy that gets sicker with each punishing presidential prescription, a different set of defining and similarly freedom-diminishing policy directives emerging from the White House goes dissimilarly unnoticed.

Earlier this month, the President took the first step in rescinding a Bush administration moral conscience regulation which enforces existing legal protections against discrimination and intimidation for doctors and other healthcare professionals who invoke conscience by refusing to participate in medical procedures they believe immoral.

The rule, which was finalized last year placed no restriction upon any legal medical procedure; it simply brought the executive branch into compliance with several existing laws including:

  • the 1973 “Church Amendments” which protect doctors and other healthcare professionals from discrimination due to religious belief or moral conviction;
  • the 1996 “Public Health Service Act Amendment” which prohibits government from discriminating against individual and institutional healthcare providers who choose not to provide abortion services or receive abortion training; and
  • the 2004 “Hyde-Weldon Amendment” which prohibits certain federal funds going to federal and state agencies and programs that discriminate against healthcare providers who decline to offer or refer abortion services.

Simply put, these three venerable laws passed by Congress and signed by former Presidents protect doctors and nurses from being professionally threatened because they allow their conscience to dictate their professional actions.

By eliminating the enforcement of these legal protections, the Obama Administration is signaling that it intends to ignore the law and refuse to protect the civil liberties of healthcare professionals based upon religious or moral conscience. Without enforcement, healthcare personnel will have scant legal recourse for intimidation and bigotry rendering the laws intended to protect them meaningless.

Former Bush Administration Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt said the conscience protection was absolutely necessary to confront a growing intolerance in the health field for “individual conscience, certain religious beliefs, ethnic and cultural traditions and moral convictions.”

Sister Carol Keehan, representing Catholic hospitals as president of the Catholic Health Association said, “We have seen a variety of efforts to force Catholic and other healthcare providers to perform or refer for abortions and sterilizations.”

Efforts to roll back freedom of conscience protections are only the latest in a series of aggressive actions that demonstrate intolerance for those whose conscience is convicted in support of a culture of life:

  • In the first month of his presidency, Obama reversed the established Mexico City policy that kept taxpayer money from being used by international organizations for abortions as a method of family planning protecting millions of American from paying for a procedure that they find morally objectionable.
  • Last week, the President unilaterally lifted embryonic-stem-cell research restrictions.
  • In the President’s recent healthcare summit, groups that support abortion were invited but pro-life groups with a stake in healthcare were excluded.
  • With the President’s support, Congress recently approved $50 million in funding for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). UNFPA is complicit in China’s unspeakably cruel one-child enforcement policy, which employs forced abortion and sterilization.
  • The President’s nomination of Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to be the new Secretary of Health and Human Services prompted George Weigel who leads Catholic Studies at the Ethics and Public Policy Center to question whether “conscience-rights protection for pro-life physicians and health-care workers [will] be sustained, amended, or eliminated.”
  • In February, the Administration decided that it would no longer extend hiring protections to faith-based organizations but would instead review on a “case-by-case basis.

The last Congress passed federal funding for embryonic-stem-cell research without hearings in either the House or the Senate, closed the bill to all markups, and bypassed the committee process entirely, we expect the same closed process in this Congress.

Yet, the most hostile assault against the civil liberties in the medical profession may be yet to come.

In 2007, Obama promised a Planned Parenthood gathering on the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade that, as president, he would sign the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). If enacted, FOCA would repeal all federal and state restrictions on abortion including the ban on partial-birth abortion. FOCA would force all public hospitals and health programs offering maternity services to provide abortions. Moreover, provisions in state constitutions that protect speech and the free exercise of religion of those whose conscience is opposed to abortion could be invalidated.

Having no reason to believe that President Obama will not fulfill this radical campaign pledge, some Catholic bishops are talking openly about engaging in civil disobedience to protect Catholic hospitals and their doctors from being forced to perform abortions.

The chilling effect of the Obama administration forcing doctors and nurses to choose between their losing their careers and being compelled to participate in abortions against their moral and religious belief is incalculable. Not only will pro-life doctors and nurses be driven from the professions, but patients will lose the ability to choose doctors who reflect their own religious and moral convictions, doctors who now help them to make healthcare choices based upon them.

The fact is, there are doctors and nurses who have no moral objection to abortion. Why then, should some medical professionals be compelled to do something that compromises their conscience? It is one thing to hold fast to the pro-abortion position as a matter of a personal opinion, it is quite another to force someone else to compromise their moral integrity.

Now the clock is ticking on the thirty-day review and public feedback period where public opinion might change the administration’s direction toward religious freedom. Let’s hope.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is a Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. Rick Tyler serves as Gingrich’s spokesperson and is the Founding Director of Renewing American Leadership.

From a no state faith to a Faithless state

What really disturbs me here is the complete and utter ignorance that some people have for history. The word ignorance is a very interesting word, it is closely related to the words agnostic or arrogance. The idea being that of denying any knowledge that can not be demonstrated or observed first hand and soothes are troubled souls mired in sin. This could lead to some very disturbing ideas if one just meditates a little on this. What is disturbing me here is the lack of understanding of our Constitution, which seems to be being replaced a little at a time over the last 100 years or so. Thomas Jefferson suggested in the Federalist Papers and in letters during the period when the Constitution was being adopted that it was important to have separation of church and state. Actually, though the Constitution does not mention separation of church and state at all, but to the contrary forbids the establishment of a state religion for the United States, such as Great Britain had. What it seems he is suggesting here is the establishment of a  national religion for the United States. This national religion is already in place it is just a mater of now making it official. Our national church will be humanism and it is more dangerous to this nation then any other has ever been in history, that is a state religion. Also if I did not know better I think we are going to have a new constitution for the United States, Obamstitution will now be the law of the land. Very dangerous and completely against God. God help us!

    from discernment

“As in the past, this new and unifying faith must be novel, vibrant and inclusive.”

It would seem the past he is speaking of is the unified effort in the plain of Shinar when man attempted to unite as one and build a temple to Heaven, The first attempt of many, at man creating his own God and how he would worship him, its called “Humanism”.

Notice how he links this global religion with government:

“The marriage of a believable faith with the husbandry of government is the union that must be contracted.”

    Genesis 11:1-4:

    The Tower of Babel

Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

    from TheSpec:

We need faith, but the faiths of our fathers are tired now, or are spent forces. We must recognize this.

Barack Obama is now leader of the most influential nation on earth. Are we yet capable of dancing to his song of hope?

Obama was elected by default by a desperate nation drowning in faithlessness and cynicism. He was simply the best bet for change.

This bleak outlook is the chronic disease of our day. We are pessimistic about our economic and ecological futures. We distrust government officials, officers of the law, bureaucrats and the principles of big business (while we scramble to enhance our own bottom line.) We doubt the trustworthiness and ambitions of people of other colours and other religions. We have our phones and e-mails rigged to monitor the fidelity of our mates.

We are a society shorn of hope and faith.

Every past society that devolved to a world view only admitting the materiality of the physical world eventually disintegrated. On the other hand, every political and spiritual genius of his particular time understood human nature and its needs. Those superior minds attempted to unite people “in one mind” — of moral rectitude and faith; of faith in the ultimate triumph of goodness.

The vigour of Zoroaster’s religion propelled ancient Persia to world-class status. Alexander the Great and Ptolemy Soter after him recognized the spiritual need in man and attempted to unite the Greek world with a “universal religion.” Later, Caesar Augustus reinvented and reinvigorated the Roman religion, and Rome survived a few more centuries. Constantine recognized this human need and modern Christianity was born. Then came Mohammed, who lifted a fractious and barbarous people into the most civilized and scientifically advanced empire of the age.

We must seek God … or Goodness (or Love, if you prefer) for our own mental health. Belief is our sustenance as much as is the food we eat and the air we breathe. Spiritual food gives us the confidence to walk into the future with clarity and optimism. A healthy individual and a healthy society must have hope and confidence that the ultimate outcome of all things will be for the good. That is the essence of religion and has been since antiquity.

Strong beliefs bond differing minds and group into a working whole. It creates internally integrated morals — internal laws that need no outside coercion to ensure. It gives us the courage to live justly, and to die well.

If Barack Obama is indeed the political unifier that Americans — and us — have put our atrophied hopes in, perhaps he will take the steps so necessary to heal his nation of its distrust and cynicism. Perhaps he will have the courage to harness the will to believe in some transcendent goodness.

But he must lead. He must demonstrate how to believe again in what is demonstrably true: That there is something out there that is greater and grander than the individual.

We need faith, but the faiths of our fathers are tired now, or are spent forces. We must recognize this whether we are Muslims, Sikhs, Jews or Christians. We are now a global village, and only a global world view will suffice.

As in the past, this new and unifying faith must be novel, vibrant and inclusive. In this new global era of widespread education and immediate communication, this new faith must also be credible. It must align with scientifically obtained knowledge yet be aware also of the undiscoverable — the great mysteries that hold us rapt and in awe.

The marriage of a believable faith with the husbandry of government is the union that must be contracted.

Only then can there be a United Nations, only then shall we have peace on Earth and goodwill toward all.
